Drivers license replacement in Arizona can be obtained in case of a lost or stolen drivers license, or a license that has been damaged, thus becoming unreadable. Replacing drivers license in AZ requires motorists to complete a list of requirements with the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division (MVD). To replace drivers licenses, several options are available including in person, online, by phone or by mail. Each method involves a series of steps to finish the process. Military members can also obtain an AZ duplicate drivers license, proving they are eligible for the procedure. To find out which Arizona drivers license replacement method is most convenient for you, look into the sections below.

How to Report a Lost or Stolen AZ Driver's License

Prior to getting an Arizona copy of drivers license at your local AZ MVD office, the state's Motor Vehicle Division strongly recommends drivers to inform the police in case of a stolen drivers license. If you suspect you have been a victim of theft, you should report the incident to the local law enforcement agency, stating that your license has been stolen. Motorists may also want to obtain a copy of the filed report, for future use.

Note: Applicants holding a license to drive that was issued before July 1995 must visit an Arizona MVD office for a photo update.

When replacing their drivers license in person, drivers in Arizona must present two documents proving their identity. In case none of the forms contains your photo, you will be obliged to bring three proofs of identification. Note that one of them must be listed under the primary category. Drivers with a name change will be required to hand over identification in both their new and previous names.

Online

Motorists can obtain a drivers license copy online in AZ, utilizing the authorized website of the state's MVD. To use the online service, licensees must be prepared to provide personal information, including their full name and date of birth. Before getting a drivers license replacement in Arizona electronically, make sure you have a major debit, credit or check card for the $12 replacement fee. Should you finish the transaction successfully, you will receive an email confirmation, which must be printed for your convenience.

You can replace your drivers license, only if your digital photograph is on file with the AZ MVD office.
