An Oklahoma Driver's License can be renewed in person at any Driver License Station or with an authorized tag agent (agents will accept only certified birth certificates as proof of identity) in the State. Renewal by mail is an option for Oklahoma license holders who are currently out of state.

  1. Oklahoma licenses normally have a validity of four years from the date of issue and do not expire on your birthday.
  2. The license can be renewed up to six months before the expiration date.

You must bring:

  1. Proof of identity.
  2. If there is a name change, relevant documentation (marriage license, court order, etc.) is needed.
  3. Proof of legal presence if you are renewing after your license expired.
  4. A renewal fee of $21.50.

Oklahoma residents who are temporarily out-of-state can renew their license by mailing the following information:

  • Your full name and date of birth
  • Your expiring driver's license number
  • Proof of identity (A copy each of primary and secondary document).
  • Current out of state address.
  • A cashier's check for $21.50 made payable to: Oklahoma Department of Public Safety

Mail all the documents to:

I've lived in OK almost all

I've lived in OK almost all of my life. I thought I had a year before it was time to renew. Apparently I was wrong. My social security number is on my medicare form but my card was destroyed by my baby grand daughter. I do have marriage license , my old license, my finger prints are on file and I still look like me in the photo. Cant a marriage license and medicare card be enough to simply renew my license? My birth cert is gone and has been for years. I do have enough collateral 'proof' that I am who I say I am. What would have happened if I'd been mugged or my house burned down?

Assuming you were born in the

Assuming you were born in the US you can request/purchase an original from your state of birth Original in this instance only means that it was issued by the state of birth It does not only mean the exact one you were issued upon birth You have as many originals of your birth certificate as you can buy You just can't show a COPY as in photocopy I learned this the hard way

This page doesn't state where

This page doesn't state where to go to renew a license if you are using ID other than a birth certificate. My license is expired by one week, and I don't have a copy of my birth certificate--I only have a passport as ID. Where do I need to go to renew my license?
