What to Bring to a Driving Test in Idaho

Here are the four documents required by the DMV when you take your written exam:

  • One proof of your identity, usually either a passport or birth certificate.
  • One proof of your Social Security Number: usually a Social Security Card, but you may also use a W-2, 1099 or paystub, provided it has your name and full SSN visible.
  • Two proofs of your address: this can be any official paper showing both your name and address. Common examples include utility bills, mortgage statements and rental agreements.

All tests are closed-book. Though you can bring a learners permit study guide and review it while you wait for the exam to start, you cannot look at this guide while taking the exam.

You can pay for your driving privileges using money, checks, debit cards or credit cards.

Idaho DMV Driving Test Fees
