How do I obtain a salvaged car title?
A salvaged vehicle, where the cost of repairing exceeds fair market value, will be issued a distinctive title referred to as a “branded” title. To obtain a brandedused car title, the insurer, state, or other jurisdiction is in primary charge to declare the car “salvaged.” The Application for Utah Title allows the option of selecting a salvage title.

After submitting the requirements via mail for a UT car title replacement, the replacement may take up to three weeks. After mailing, the new car title may be processed within one week of the DMV receiving it. After it has been processed, the new title may take between seven to 10 days in the mail.
