I've had to go in multiple times over the last 2 years to have my photo taken and renew my paper license. Despite many trips and no legal issues, I have yet to receive my plastic driver's license. I don't know how they can continue to remain open with such ridiculous standards.

I just returned from a trip

I just returned from a trip to the Great Mall in Olathe where I renewed my driver's license. I walked in and was surprised that there was no line at all. I showed my card and old driver's license and received my number. I didn't hardly have time to sit down before my number was called. The whole process - in and out the door - took a maximum of 7 minutes. And the nice lady that gave me the eye test and took my picture was exceptionally pleasant. She promised me that my new picture would be a "glamour shot" and it turned out to be quite flattering, in fact. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. Of course, I chose to go do this on a Thursday at 1:15 p.m. Not during rush hour.

I didn't have a wait but the customer service wasn't great. She wasn't rude but she certainly wasn't nice either. Zero rapport and no personality. My picture sucked, no retakes... And a renewal was almost 30 bucks. Ridiculous. They got three stars for being in and out in less than 15 minutes.

I hate this place, the

I hate this place, the texting system isn't accurate and I keep losing my spot to someone because it's too early and my dad isn't home to drive me. I've tried texting M but it doesn't work that well "your wait time is 65 minutes" and then 20 minutes later told me to go up to window 4. I replied with M 40 since my dad still isn't home and it told me i had nother 35 minutes. then a text right after it saying i lost my spot and if i want to rejoin the line then i have to click J. once again I texted J and it told me "sorry we are currently closed. Please try again later" this is is f*cking stupid. then after my dad had to go back around when we were half way there, It told me that I should go up to window 4 to take my test. But right afterward it sent me 4,i repeat, 4 messages saying "sorry, we still haven't heard back from you, so we had to give your spot to someone else. you have 30 minutes to rejoin the front of the line" I gave up and told my dad to just drive home. I can't believe I have to go through all of that again tomorrow. I extremely hate this place.

When you are moving in from

When you are moving in from out of state, it would be good to have the CORRECT address to find the DMV. After going back and forth on 151st several times, we stopped to ask where it was located, only to find it is inside the mall! Then, once you get in the mall, there are no signs/info to point you in the right direction. Then we get to the office and it is closed...on a Monday... I have never heard of a DMV only open 4 days a week! There is no access to pick up a book or info on laws or driving rules...Very frustrating!!!!

I actually cannot believe the

I actually cannot believe the incompetence I encountered today. My first text, arriving at exactly 11 am states I had 174 minutes to wait. my number was actually called at 2:40 pm, 220 minutes later. My clerk was friendly, but obviously stalling as I learned about both her sons, the upcoming prom, and previous girlfriends. All of this may have been tolerable, if the job had been done correctly. Unfortunately, it was not. Now after talking to the supervisor, all I need to do is go back there AGAIN and get it corrected. It is absolutely one of the most incompetent, poorly operated systems I have ever seen and would Never be tolerated in the corporate world. Even as a supervisor, they are unable to do anything to correct a situation. It is truly just your burden, the client, not the State of Kansas, to endure all difficulties. The State of Kansas is neither willing or able to correct their own errors. It is shame.

I still do not understand why

I still do not understand why they cannot get the location corrected on the website. It has been over 6 months now since I went through a very similar situation described by the last reviewer. I was with my son when he got his first drivers license. Today, I am on the site looking for the hours since I now have to renew my own license and noticed that the address is STILL wrong. Fortunately, this time I know where it is. We'll see how this experience goes. I always dread it!

Where to begin? Rating has

Where to begin? Rating has nothing to do with actual service since I ran out of time before completing anything. First off, the office is not where it states it is on the website. It moved a month ago. It is now located at the Mall. I think that is a great idea by the way. Both for the mall and for the license branch. However the signs at the mall have you driving all the way around the mall until you get almost back to the main entrance where they tell you to go back. Logic would dictate that it is then located between those last two signs. Wrong! Figured that out after carrying my daughter in a car carrier from the movie theater to somewhere in the middle between two B-team stores still hanging on. Clear signage and an updated website seem warranted.

As for service, all I needed to do was update my address which I did online, but still wanted it updated on my license. I was told it would be two to two and a half hours. Seems a bit ridiculous for it to take that long just to take a picture and verify the information I already changed online.
