How to Get your License Plates Stickers in North Carolina
Guide on how to get your license plates stickers in North Carolina.
You cannot obtain replacement license plates or stickers for vehicles that are not currently registered. If you have not received your replacement registration card, license plates, or stickers within eight weeks of submitting your application, contact the North Carolina DMV at (919) 715-7000, Monday to Friday between 8 am and 5 pm for assistance.
North Carolina vehicle safety and emissions inspections have gone electronic. This means that, since Nov. 1, 2008 windshield inspection stickers are not issued at your vehicle inspection. Inspection mechanics will continue to issue a receipt showing the date, station and results of your inspection, and a record of your inspection will be entered into the DMV’s vehicle registration database.
