How to Renew Your Vehicle Registration in Nevada
The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles notifies vehicle owners of the expiration date of their vehicle registration by mail. Vehicle registrations can be renewed before the expiration date either by telephone, fax, through the mail, using the DMV's online service, or in person.
REGISTRATION RENEWAL BY TELEPHONE
You can use a touchtone phone to renew your registration. You will need a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express) to pay for the renewal transaction.
- Have your credit card, registration renewal notice with the access code handy before the call.
- Call the following numbers based on your location:

- Follow the instructions and receive a confirmation number to complete the registration renewal.
REGISTRATION RENEWAL BY U.S. MAIL OR FAX
- Send the completed registration renewal form and the appropriate payment to:
Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles Central Services and Records 555 Wright Way Carson City, NV 89711-0700
REGISTRATION RENEWAL VIA THE INTERNET
- Diesel vehicles that require emissions testing cannot renew online, and can do so only by mail or in person.
- Go to the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles Online Services website.
- Have your registration renewal notice with the access code handy or use your license plate number with the last 4 digits of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- Have your credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express) or debit card handy to pay for the renewal. You can also request an electronic withdrawal from your checking account.
- There is no additional fee for online renewals.
- The online renewal service hours are as follows:
Monday: 24 hours Tuesday - Friday: 2 am to midnight Saturday: 2 am to 7 pm Sunday and other holidays: Midnight - 9 pm
REGISTRATION RENEWAL IN PERSON
- Locate the DMV office in your area or visit an Emissions Station or a self-service kiosk.
- Bring the registration renewal form, along with the appropriate fee to pay for the renewal.
- DMV Offices accept cash, check, credit or debit card as payment. Self-service kiosks accept cash and credit or debit cards. Some kiosks in Las Vegas and Reno areas which are located within private businesses do not accept cash. Emissions Stations require an emission check before the registration renewal and can charge up to $10 more than the normal renewal and emission testing charges.
FEES
Registration for different categories of vehicles in Nevada will have different fees that range from $10 to $1,360 as seen here and can also be calculated using the Online Registration Fee Estimator.FOR CORRECTIONS
- Before renewal, check for errors in the pre-printed vehicle renewal notice that arrived in the mail.
- For correction or change of address, you can visit the local DMV office in person or fax/mail the application form for changing address. This needs to be done within 30 days as per Nevada law.

Jean, the Supervisor at the DMV said it wasn't her problem, referring to the online renewal not resolving. Hence, the only way to renew registration is in person or via mail/fax which could easily get lost.

The Online Renewal Registration is not resolving to the web page as prescribed. The Phone Renewal Registration is not long an option.
