Drivers education in Oregon is not mandatory for first-time drivers. Actually, beginner drivers between 15 and 17 years of age are advised to enroll in a drivers ed course after getting a learner’s permit in order to become better and safer traffic participants. Another advantage of taking a drivers education is that the number of 100 hours supervised driving will be reduced to 50 hours for drivers who get a certificate of completion.
