A Florida Motorcycle License can be renewed online, by mail, by phone or in person at the local DHS&MV office in the State. The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles notifies owners of the expiration date of their motorcycle license by mail in advance.
[edit] WHEN TO RENEW YOUR MOTORCYCLE LICENSE
Your Florida motorcycle license is valid for four years and will generally expire on your birthday. People who have a good driving record, with no conviction for three years and seven years without suspension or revocation, are eligible for âsafe driver' motorcycle license which is valid for six years. You may renew your license up to 18 months prior to expiration.

If applying for renewal in person at the local DHS&MV office, it is best to make an appointment which can be done online. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. To renew in person, you must:
- Bring the expired motorcycle license or bring proof of citizenship or legal presence.
- Provide your Social security number
- Pay the renewal fee.
- Drivers 80 years of age or older are required to take a vision test.

You can renew your Florida motorcycle license online if you are a US citizen. Non-US citizens who are immigrants can also apply online if they have applied in person for renewal at least once after March 2002. Non-immigrants cannot apply for license renewal online. You must replace your motorcycle license if your original license has been lost, stolen or destroyed. If your motorcycle license has been stolen and you have filed a police report, the fee for obtaining a duplicate will be waived. You must:- Bring proper identification. The state of Florida requires that you present one piece of primary ID and one piece of secondary ID.
- Bring the correct fee. If applying online using a credit card, there may be a nominal additional service charge. Please contact your local DHS&MV driver license office to confirm the fee before applying in person, since fees may vary.
- If your motorcycle license will expire within the next 45 days, you can apply to renew your license instead of applying for a replacement.
