Filing the SR-22 Insurance Form

Filing of the SR-22 insurance form is required in some states for drivers who have consistently bad driving records or multiple convictions for reckless driving. The SR-22 is a declaration by the insurance company that states that the driver has sufficient insurance coverage to meet the liability requirements of the state. However, the state of Massachusetts does not require SR-22 filing.

FOR OUT OF STATE RESIDENTS

  1. Although SR-22 is not required in the state of Massachusetts, if you are required to file an SR-22 in another state, you should continue to do so if you want to retain your driving privileges. Keep in mind that suspension of your driving privileges in another state may also result in the suspension of your driving privileges in Massachusetts.
