Traffic/Driving Schools in Arizona
TRAFFIC SCHOOLS
In the state of Arizona, traffic schools are often referred to as âTraffic Survival Schools' (TSS). There are many reasons why people enroll in the TSS:
- After a traffic violation where demerit points are awarded, the Motor Vehicle Department will order the driver to take a course at a traffic/driving school to improve their safe-driving skills.
- To increase their knowledge of Arizona driving laws and receive safe driving points.
- If you have accumulated 8 or more points in a twelve month period.
BENEFITS
Any driver who has accumulated more than eight points or has his or her driving privilege suspended can enroll in a TSS. It will not remove points off your record but it will benefit you by reinforcing driver requirements.WHEN IS IT MANDATORY?
When the MVD provides you with a corrective action letter for traffic violations, you have no choice but to take the class. You will have 60 days to finish the course and if it is NOT completed successfully you will have your license suspended until the requirement has been fulfilled.FEES
Please contact the TSS locations for more details on individual pricing.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- If you are looking for information on how to get your license or permit, see Driver's Education.

good information
This is helpful but I am wondering if you or anyone else had any more information. I had to attend Traffic Survival School on May 1 of last year because I
accumulated too many points on my driving record. I didn't receive any tickets after Traffic Survival School until around 1 1/2 months ago when I received a couple photo radar tickets. Then, I got in a small accident and the officer gave me a ticket.
I had heard you can't get any tickets after Traffic Survival School am not sure about that or if it's true how much time has to pass. What if you get tickets after Traffic Survival School? Does the DMV start over with your points? I am just concerned about my license being suspended and was wondering if anyone had any information about my situation.
Thanks.
