zero stars, would have been nice to know it's CLOSED. am I missing the BIG RED NOTICE that says this facility was shuttered? was it somewhere mixed in with the directions to get to it and the hours it's open? I can honestly say I have never ever had an encounter with the DMV that didn't involve wrong directions, incomplete or unclear instructions (despite pretty thorough advance work including phone calls) and unpleasant personnel. Weirdly consistent in its ineptitude.

My previous review was posted

My previous review was posted with 5 stars without my ability to edit it. Reposting:

The front office was snarky & condescending. I tried to get a drivers license transferred fron out-of-state. I had utility bills, birth certificates, marriage certificates etc. I waited in line to be refused & have to go gather more paperwork & try to make arrangements to visit again, within the limited hours.

I did read their web-page thoroughly multiple times to make sure I had the right forms. After I was turned away & went back to the webpage, there is still no mention of the requirement (my utilities are in my wife's name - the same name on my marriage certificate). No other options have been presented...There is no way to be legal in this state & this office has actually made that worse. Dealing with the attitudes and lack of information is totally overwhelming

very bad experience at this

very bad experience at this DMV in niles. where to begin? it was an overall disaster, confusion, madness. especially caused by the lady in the front desk. she has absolutely NO customer service skills. not even 1 percent of politeness,...and she works for the Secretary of State? ha, what a joke. she shold be fired. she gave trouble to everyone, she didnt care if she yelled at old people or to people with different racial background. absolutely ridiculous. never gives out information, always makes you run around to get additional stuff which in the end turns out unnecessary.

Had a terrible experience at this facility - so terrible that my significant other and I left and went to the facility on Elston in Chicago. We were given a very hard time at the front counter by a clerk who was quick to deliver a condescending remark that began with "You people" and then got up and walked away when she was called on her inappropriate, unprofessional behavior. Not sure if she prefaced her statement in such a derogatory manner because we are African-American, or because she just has not gone through any kind of diversity or customer service training, but I hate to see a person with such poor people skills and customer service skills serving as a State of Illinois employee. Thankfully the other facility was just a few miles away; we were treated respectfully there and got what we needed.

I went with my mother to the office in Niles to obtain ID Card for her since he dose not speak english. We just moved to Glenview so I only had the Homeowners Policy Declaration page with her name listed. The female officer at the front desk sent us back home twice since we did not had sufficient proof of residency insted of giving us the Affidavit Form used by DMV that I was suppose to sign in front of the officer as a proof of residency for my mother. That document is listed first on the form. My mother started work on Monday and ID was a required document. I think that DMV stuff should be trained better, especially the lady at front. I know she works there for years so she shouyd know about the Affidavit form used by DMV unless in her best interest is to make life harder for all citizens and residents of US. Next day I got the notirized affidavid and went to different office (Northbrook) where I was informed about the Affidavit form used by DMV office and no need for notirized sign affidavit. I just sign it at the officer desk in the officer presence and together with the Homeowners Declaration it was used as a proof of residency for my mother. I could save money and time if the Niles office stuff would do the same and want to help.
