DMV.com is proud to announce the launch of a new section: The DMV News Center

The section aggregates local, state, and national information related to driving and the Department of Motor Vehicles. This includes DMV office closures, schedule changes, policy updates, and driving regulation changes. When checking a DMV office location online, drivers will see news updates specific to their location that provides time sensitive, up to date, information about their DMV.

The following is the type of information you can expect to see:

DMV Schedule Changes – From holiday hours, to permanent and temporary changes to the operating schedule, we will report what you need to know so you don’t arrive to the DMV when it is closed.

DMV Location Changes – If an office has temporarily relocated for renovations or has permanently moved, we will report it. This also includes if an office has remained in the same place but has moved some of its functions elsewhere.

DMV Policy Changes – This accommodates changes to DMV procedures, such as the required documents to renew your license or how much it costs to get an ID card.

Driving Regulations – We will keep you up to date on the most recent safety laws and traffic violations, including topics such as distracted driving regulations and DUI limits.

Our mission at DMV.com is to provide drivers with the easiest solution to DMV related tasks. The news section is an extension of this service, making sure people arrive in the correct location, at the correct time, with the correct documents to complete their task.

While the DMV News Center is reporting DMV office announcements and changes to procedures, we will also be providing our opinion on DMV policies and driving regulations in our blog. Having an unbiased, nationwide perspective, allows us to look at driving regulations from each region and compare what is working and what isn’t. With questions such as How are self-driving cars going to be regulated? and speculation on Glow In the Dark Highways, there is no shortage of interesting topics to cover.
