Delaware Defensive Driving & Drivers Education
Delaware defensive driving courses are designed to teach licensed drivers skills that will make them safer drivers. Participation in a defensive driving course is optional for those who want to take advantage of the statewide safe driver discount or three-point credit to their driving records. Habitual traffic offenders may be required to take a Delaware aggressive driving class to prevent getting a driver’s license suspension. Delaware Drivers Education
DE teen driving classes are required by the DMV for applicants 16 to 18 years of age. Drivers can take a drivers ed course at their state secondary school, or through a state certified driving school. Adult drivers ed can be completed either in person or online.

Delaware Defensive Driving
Delaware residents may need to take a state approved defensive driving course for any of the following reasons:
- Insurance premium discount.
- Point credit.
- Avoid an aggressive driver license suspension.
- Voluntary/personal education.
Upon completion of DMV traffic school in Delaware, drivers qualify to receive up to a 15 percent discount on their car insurance as mandated by the Division of Motor Vehicles.
A driver improvement program is required in Delaware for drivers convicted of three or more offenses that are categorized under aggressive driving. Drivers must complete a DMV-approved aggressive driving course in order to avoid the suspension of their driving privileges.
