A Mr. Carpenter (unsure of correct spelling) who is employed at the Clayton DMV should have a serious customer service class. This man was nothing but rude and very arrogant to myself and my 16 year old daughter who was already terrified because she was taking her driving test. When I mentioned the Christmas music (trying to make conversation) He replied in a very unpleasant voice that he just wishes it would hurry up and be over with. Other than that no other words were exchanged unless they were negative insults coming from his mouth. Not sure if he was having a bad day or a bad life but I hope he never comes into my business and expects any kind of treatment other than what he gave me and my poor daughter. What a terrible experience. Surely they can find better help than that. I will drive to Smithfield or Angier from now on.... no wonder there is never a line, who wants that kind of service!!! Mr. Carpenter I hope someone out there treats you and your children better than you treated mine.... sad.

place is awful

I get an error message when I try to describe how rude these people were in this review

I went to DMV clayton last year and the employee who assisted was good. I went to the DMV clayton office today, around past 3pm to take my permit test and approached a young stocky lady employee who was sited in the middle and it was a horrible experience. She was rude and mean, even hollered at me when I answered a visual test question wrong and worst repeated my answer loudly for everyone to hear. I saw and heard the lady beside us to the right laughing at me and even my friend sitting on the lounge turned around and looked because he can hear what she was saying just loud!! I must admit I did not study but I don't think I should be subjected to ridicule. I was just floored and embarrassed, i did not even focused on the test and left. She even checked my state ID twice and the way she handled things was discriminating. You are a public servant, you should learn the basics of public service before you even tackle that job. I was naive and ignorant but that employee has no right to make me a laughing stock and make her assert that she is in power. That was what I am getting from her. I have lived in NYC and NJ and you would think people there are mean and was surprised about this southern lady's demeanor. Such a shame she is doing public service. She is one cocky lady trying to show off her power in the office. I am really upset and was embarrassed . My friend who drove me there even thought of the same thing and he was just an observer. It is so frustrating !!!
