How to Replace a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) in North Dakota

If your North Dakota commercial driver's license (CDL) is lost, stolen, or destroyed, you can apply for a replacement license. While not required by North Dakota law, it is a good idea to notify your local police department if you believe your CDL has been stolen.

APPLYING FOR A DUPLICATE CDL

  1. You will need to visit your local Driver License Site in person in order to apply for a replacement CDL.
  2. You must present a valid form of acceptable proof of name and date of birth verifying your name and birth date along with your social security number.
  3. Submit the replacement fee of $8.
  4. If your current CDL is damaged, you must surrender it at the Driver License Site when you apply for a replacement.
