I just want to say to people that are complaining about Holland's Secretary of State - it is one of the quickest experiences you can have. Try comparing it to somewhere else, for example, anywhere in Arizona. You would have to plan on being at any of those for at least 5 - 8 hours. Waiting only about an hour is not that bad, trust me!

Personally, I've had no issues with any employees. I would suggest to the employees to SMILE once in a while. It certainly would help alleviate some stress that's already in some customers due to the confusion as soon as one walks in the door. However, the amount of time it takes to get your business taken care of is a bit ridiculous. It's also somewhat confusing regarding the different lines in which to stand...frustrating for sure. Truly, a genuine smile goes a long way to not only brighten your day but those of the customers.

They are unfriendly....unwilling to help when faced with foreign national requirements for drivers license renewal.....have different paperwork filing requirements then the Social Security Office has on their books and are unwilling to accept fault in these discrepancies or willing to find out what is wrong with their communication or requirements for foreign nationals in relation to the SS offices.
For 12 years now,I have problems regarding the same paperwork each time I need to renew....keep a folder now with me ,
and every single time they have the same problem with my paperwork, the same problem with the SS documents and after two or more weeks of running back and forth between DMV and SS,the outcome is still the same.....DMV has no clue what SS has to give out, and is not prepared to even address that issue......and I finally get my license renewed because SS office manager is prepared to issue statement to that regard....I have 4 copies of those now, and I am not looking forward to my 5 th time.....
Very difficult to get any of them at DMV to involve the office manager when asked either.

They did their job OK. They are always grumpy right off the bat. Intimidating people is what they seem to live for. Also, every time I go in there, I hear chit chat that shouldn't be spoken in front of others. Today it was about another employee. Wish some of these people could just be a little more kind.
