This fall, the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles will start issuing new, redesigned driver's licenses and ID cards. The DMV says that the new documents will be the safest in the United States, being made from polycarbonate and featuring a laser-engraved black and white photo.
“Advances in technology have enabled WisDOT to offer a new card for identification that makes it the most secure in North America,” said Ann Perry, director of the DMV Bureau of Driver Services.
The cards will also display a clearly noted “U21” designation for persons under the age of 21, along with a raised signature and clearly visible commercial driver's license endorsements.
