The state of Vermont has not approved any traffic schools to offer Driver Improvement Courses (DIC). However, there are many private traffic schools where you can enroll in such courses. The main benefits of enrolling in a Driver Improvement Course are:

• You will learn to drive safer.
• You could receive insurance discounts.

These programs are designed to help you to learn defensive driving techniques that will make you a safer driver. The DIC is typically an eight hour course and there are various locations and online courses offered in Vermont.

Any driver can enroll in a Driver Improvement Clinic at any time to receive the following benefits:

Though driver improvement is not mandatory, you may successfully complete a driver improvement program when you have been convicted of a moving or traffic violation.
