Drivers ed in South Carolina is a requirement for residents younger than 17 years of age, who are applying for a conditional or special restricted driver’s license. Teen driving classes must consist of eight hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind-the-wheel training at a local driving school. Additionally, students must complete a driving log detailing their supervised driving practice. Driver’s license applicants must get at least 40 hours of driving experience.
