Drivers education in Oklahoma is a requirement of learner’s permit applicants younger than 16 years of age. Oklahoma Parent-Taught Drivers Education
Oklahoma teen driving school is a requirement for first-time drivers seeking a learning permit.
OK driver education courses are offered in three different ways for the purpose of obtaining a driving permit: via public high schools, through commercial driving schools and by online parent-taught drivers education. Learner drivers who do not have access to driving lessons at their school or in their immediate vicinity can have a parent or legal guardian take an Oklahoma driving school course, qualifying the parent to act as an official driving instructor for the child.
Any driver education course taken by an Oklahoma learners permit applicant must include at least 30 hours of classroom instruction and 55 hours of behind-the-wheel experience. The classroom portion must be completed prior to the beginner driver getting behind the wheel.

Oklahoma Defensive Driving
Drivers can attend OK defensive driving training for the following reasons:

- Voluntary/personal education.
Attending a driving safety course for ticket dismissal requires a court order in Oklahoma. A list of state approved defensive driving courses will be provided by the court or judge in your case. Participants are allowed to take a defensive driving class in Oklahoma once every two years to qualify for a two-point reduction on their driving records.
