I have lived in Ithaca for five years now and have gone to the Ithaca DMV numerous times. They are fast, efficient, and have a fine sense of gallows humor. Very counterintuitive, I know. But there it is...

the place is disgusting, and the people are exceedingly unfriendly.

I hate having to come here. Last time I was here, a woman pulled me out of line (I was 2 people back) and insisted I come to her little area so she could get me started... but she refused to finish the job and said she was going to put me back in line once she got my info...completely unnecessary, but ok. But once she takes all my stuff she decides to answer the phone so I had to sit there for 10 minutes while she chatted and then she decides that my stuff is no good because she had so much time to sit there and stare at my papers that she noticed that I didn't sign my name 100% exactly the same 4 different times. Ok the pen slipped once and made ONE letter look weird and she wouldn't accept it and gave me attitude for it and acted like I was trying to scam them somehow (I was giving a car to my brother, by the way).
