How to Replace a Lost Vehicle Title in New Hampshire
You may apply for a duplicate vehicle title if your original title is lost, stolen, or damaged. A vehicle with a missing title cannot be bought or sold, so owners must apply for and obtain a replacement before they can sell their vehicle.
WHAT YOU NEED WHEN APPLYING FOR A DUPLICATE/REPLACEMENT TITLE
- Complete the application for duplicate title (TDMV 18) making sure to indicate on the form that you are applying for a duplicate title.
- If your title shows a lienholder, you must include a completed and notarized form Release of Lien (TDMV20) form with your application.
- All owners' signatures are to be submitted in case of joint ownership of the vehicle.
FEES
Submit a $25 (via check) duplicate title fee along with your application form and the other materials. Checks should be payable to the New Hampshire Department of Motor Vehicles.SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION
