How to Apply for a Motorcycle License in Nebraska
You can apply for a motorcycle permit and license at any DMV office in Nebraska. In order to apply for a motorcycle license or endorsement you must first apply for a motorcycle permit.
New Applicants Over 18
Listed below are the requirements to obtain a motorcycle permit:
- Study the motorcycle driver manual.
- Visit a licensing office.
- Submit the application form.
- Submit identification document.
- Pay an application fee ($8).
- Pass the vision test.
- Pass the written examination. See practice tests for more information on the written exam.
New Applicants Between 17 and 18
In addition to the above requirements, applicants under 18 must have either a School Learner's permit or a Provisional Operator's Permit. For details, click here.
Motorcycle Permit
Once you complete the aforementioned prerequisites, you will be given a motorcycle permit. This permit will allow you to practice driving a motorcycle.
Applying for a Motorcycle License
- Locate your nearest skills test location and schedule an appointment.
- On passing, you will receive your license or endorsement.
Fees
There is an $8 fee for the permit and $23.75 for a license. An endorsement costs $10. If the application expires, some steps to acquiring the permit or license may have to be repeated.
