[edit] APPOINTMENTS AND SCHEDULING

Apart from visiting BMV locations to schedule your vision, knowledge and road tests, you can also mail your license application or road test request to the BMV to receive:

• An appointment for a road test at the nearest BMV Office for a non-commercial license.
• An appointment for vision and knowledge tests for a commercial license.
• An appointment for a road test at the nearest BMV Office for a commercial license after clearing the vision and knowledge tests.

[edit] TYPES OF LOCATIONS

• Motor Vehicle Branch Offices handle issues concerning titles, registration, licenses, commercial licenses, non-driver IDs, permits and more. You can also schedule your vision, knowledge and road tests here. Branch Offices are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, except for legal holidays.
• Participating Municipalities deal with titles and registration and charge a nominal fee for these services. Please verify the hours at your preferred Municipality Office before visiting in person.
• Mobile License Units handle issues concerning only licenses and non-driver IDs. Please verify the hours at your preferred Mobile Unit before visiting in person.
• Vehicle Inspection Stations are available for vehicle inspections. Operating hours vary among Stations. Please verify the hours at your preferred Station or by calling the main BMV office is Augusta at (207) 624-8934, before visiting in person.
• Emission Inspection Stations are available for emission inspections in the Cumberland County only. Operating hours vary among Stations. Please verify the hours at your preferred Station or by calling the main BMV office is Augusta at (207) 624-8934, before visiting in person.
