[edit] APPOINTMENTS AND SCHEDULING

Apart from visiting TC locations to schedule your vision, knowledge and road tests, you may also you may also contact the TC to schedule appointments and activities in advance. Department of Safety's Driver License Issuance to:

• Make a road test appointment for a commercial license by calling (800) 542-5990 from within Kentucky or (502) 564-4041 from outside Kentucky.
• Make a road test appointment for a license by calling your Driver License Issuance Location since all tests are conducted through the Kentucky State Police.

• Driver License Issuance Locations handle issues concerning licenses, commercial licenses, non-driver IDs, permits and more. You can also schedule your vision, knowledge and road tests here; though road tests are held in select locations and road test for commercial licenses are held at third-party skills testing sites. General hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm, although the hours vary by county locations and some have Saturday hours, except for legal holidays. Different locations also offer different services and may be on different time zones. Please verify the hours and services offered at your county location before visiting in person.
• Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's County Clerk Offices deal with titles, registration, and more. General hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm, although the hours vary by county locations and some have Saturday hours, except for legal holidays. Different locations may be on different time zones. Please verify the hours at your county clerk office before visiting in person.
• Division of Driver Licensing Regional Field Offices handle issues concerning licenses, commercial licenses, non-driver IDs, and permits for foreign nationals temporarily residing in Kentucky. These Offices are open Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm, except for legal holidays. However, they may have different timings for different transactions and may be on different time zones. Please verify the hours at your regional office before visiting in person.
• CDL Skills Testing Sites are authorized to conduct road tests for commercial licenses. Different Test Sites operate at different hours from Monday-Friday. Please verify the hours at your preferred Test Site and make an appointment before visiting in person.
• One-Stop Shops offer some specialized transactions related to motor vehicle services in one location. They are open Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm for all walk-in customers, except for legal holidays.
