Horrible experience at Auto Choice. We purchased a used car from them, and less than 24 hours later discovered a major problem with the transmission. Called to report the problem the next day and brought the car back to be fixed within 72 hours after purchasing it, left it there for a few hours, and was told it was all fixed when I picked the car up. They would not tell me what had been done and would not let me talk to the mechanic, telling me "the mechanic is gone for the day" and "I don't know what he did, I just know it's all set now") and they flat out refused to give me any service documentation, which I asked for repeatedly. Brought the car home, and discovered the problem was not fixed at all, brought it back in and they told me, sorry, it's out of warranty now (having been driven over 1000 miles at that point). Though they verbally ackowledged I had reported the trans problem initially, when I asked for written service documention stating that, they would not give me any. I requested a service invoice for the first time I had brought it in, and for that time as well, I was told "I'll have something for you tomorrow", "My secretary isn't here to type anything up" and finally, when I got extremely angry, it was "We don't have to give you a thing, get out!". Basically, they lied, and figured if they never gave me a written service invoice stating when and why I brought the car in in the first place, I could never prove it. I now know it is ILLEGAL to not be given written documention upon request. The manager laughed in my face when I told him I was bringing this to the RI Board of Arbitration and told me I would get no where, that he had been selling cars since before I was born, and to basically get the hell out of his dealership. I am now stuck w/ a car that no longer is drivable, and, finally, after 5 long months, and going to have my case be heard before the board. My experience with this dealership has been nothing short of a nightmare. Never would of thought that people would have the nerve to look at me and lie straight to my face, or deny me something that is my legal right. I should've called the police when they refused to give me something in writing. I would've given this place a negative 5 rating if I could have. They are awful, and apparently have to resort to this type of thing in order to keep there business going and turn a profit. BUYER BEWARE!

Update: We lost our case against Auto Choice w/ the board of arbitration because we could not PROVE that we had brought the car in w/ a trans problem 3 days after purchasing. We were naive. Auto Choice knew they could get away w/ not honoring the warranty by refusing to issue me any written documentation stating I was there and why, and then waiting for my warranty to run out. They are scum. We will continue to seek compensation from them, but are doubtful we will win. After months of not being able to drive the car, we had no choice but to replace the transmission, which cost of $4000 (on a car that was only worth less then $6000). We had to borrow the money from our 401K. If you still feel compelled to do business w/ them, find out who owns/runs this business and do a quick internet search, so you will know just what you are dealing with.
