Reviews of Amherst Street Collision
Add Your ReviewIn June 2009, Amherst Street Collision did over $3000 in customization work to my BMW 325Ci by installing ‘M’ Style front and rear bumpers purchased from Bavarian Auto in Portsmouth, NH, as well as removing both of my front fenders and making custom inserts to place the ‘M’ style vents in them. Amherst Street Collision also did a complete paint job on my car. The work they did back in 2009 was satisfactory and the new bumpers were aligned properly. I had no complaints with the work they did.
In March 2011, Amherst Street Collision removed the same front bumper they had properly installed and painted back in 2009, repaired a crack at the bottom of the bumper, repainted it, and re-installed the front bumper. The body shop rushed the job, took two days longer than what they quoted me - it took them 5 days instead of 3 days. And I was paying for a rental car out-of-pocket, which I’m not asking to be reimbursed for. The body shop dropped my newly painted bumper on the cement floor prior to installing it, which took a very noticeable chip out of the corner. And did not properly align my front bumper when reinstalling it. Two weeks later, the new paint job on my front bumper was already peeling, and the front bumper was rubbing against the front fender causing wear and corrosion. I have the photos to prove this and asking to be reimbursed for the $300 repair/paint job they did on my front bumper, and an additional $300 to repair my front fender.
Going back to June 2009, when Amherst Street Collision did the customization work on my BMW, and removed the front fenders to make the special cut-out ‘M-style’ vents, they ripped out my sun roof drain and sun roof drain hose that is connected from the driver’s side sun roof down to the inside of the driver’s side front fender where the water drains out. I didn’t find this out until I took my BMW to the dealership after I started experiencing dampness on my floor mats and electrical issues.
The BMW Dealership told me I was missing a sun roof drain and hose and ask if I had been in an accident recently, which I had not. The Dealership also said a sun roof drain and hose would not physically fall out due to wear and tear – mine was ripped out from Amherst Street Collision. Total repair cost to fix: $1,119.00. I have the work order and receipt to prove this.
I would never take my vehicle back to your shop because the people you have working there are not knowledgeable, lack attention to detail, and do not take responsibility for their mistakes.
