The start of a new year brings a host of new models to the car market, equipped with the latest innovations in vehicle safety and high-tech connectivity and performance features. In 2015, vehicles will get even more fuel-efficient, connected and eco-friendly, and there will be something for everyone – from safe family cars, through rugged pick-up trucks with much improved fuel economy, to clean electric cars for the eco-conscious consumer. Here is a list of the most anticipated vehicles for 2015, courtesy of some of the world’s largest automakers.

Ford F-150

This has been the best-selling vehicle in the U.S. for a couple of decades, and it seems that it will keep the throne as America’s favorite vehicle in 2015, as well. The latest model comes with a series of innovations, that are supposed to improve its fuel economy, which has been one of the few aspects that needed to be improved. Ford managed to make it more efficient with the implementation of an aluminum body, a radical move that makes the 2015 F-150 the first mass-produced vehicle with a body made largely out of aluminum. This is why it is one of the most-anticipated vehicles for 2015, and it’s safe to say that truck buyers will not be disappointed with the new and improved F-150.

Toyota Prius

If you are looking for a family car that is both safe and eco-friendly, then you will surely be looking forward to the opportunity to get the new Toyota Prius. The world’s most popular plug-in hybrid comes with an improved powertrain, that delivers 134 horsepower, a more aerodynamic shape, and an even better fuel economy than previous generations, rated at 51 mpg/city and 48 mpg/highway. What’s more, it’s equipped with an assisted parking feature, which will surely be of great help to parents. The new Prius can be yours for about $24,000.

Ford Mustang GT

Those of you that are more into fast, high-performance cars, can be happy about the introduction of the new generation Ford Mustang GT. The 2015 model has a more sophisticated interior, with a voice-activated infotainment system, that allows drivers to make hands-free phone calls, have their incoming text messages read out loud, and control the car’s air conditioning system through voice commands. As far as performance is concerned, the new Mustang GT is more powerful than ever, with a 5.0-liter V8 engine, that produces 435 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque.
