How to Replace a Vehicle Registration in Arkansas

If your vehicle's registration card, license plate(s) or stickers are lost, stolen, or damaged, you may apply for a replacement with the Arkansas Office of Motor Vehicles. The procedure is similar whether you need a duplicate card or additional plates.

APPLYING FOR A REPLACEMENT REGISTRATION CARD

You can apply for a replacement registration card if your card is lost, stolen, or damaged by visiting your county revenue office and following these steps:

  1. If your current registration card has been damaged, attach the damaged card to the application.
  2. Pay the duplicate registration fee, currently $1.

APPLYING FOR A REPLACEMENT LICENSE PLATES AND/OR PLATE STICKERS

If one or both of your license plates are lost, stolen, or damaged, you must apply for replacement plate(s) immediately. You can obtain replacement plates in person.

  1. Bring the damaged plate(s) with you, if you still have them.
  2. Bring your valid Arkansas driver's license or State identification card. If you do not have a driver's license or ID card, others forms of identification may be acceptable.
  3. If your current address differs from the one the Arkansas OMV has on file, you must also provide proof of ownership of the vehicle (a copy of your title or registration card), along with a police report, if your license plates were stolen.
  4. Pay the $1.25 replacement fee.
