How to Replace a Lost Vehicle Title in Arkansas

You may apply for a duplicate vehicle title if your original title is lost, stolen, or damaged. A vehicle with a missing title cannot be bought or sold, so owners must apply for and obtain a replacement before they can sell their vehicle.

WHAT YOU NEED WHEN APPLYING FOR A DUPLICATE/REPLACEMENT TITLE

  1. Complete vehicle title/registration form form, making sure to indicate on the form that you are applying for a duplicate title.
  2. Vehicle identification information should be provided, which could be the VIN number, license plate number, registration certificate or title number.
  3. If your title shows a lien holder, you must include a completed and notarized lien release or a Permission to Issue a Replacement Title form (if lien has not been released) with your application. The form may also be requested at your local revenue office.

FEES

Along with your application form and the other materials, you must submit a $5 duplicate title fee. Checks should be payable to the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.

SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION

You can submit the application and fees for a duplicate title at your local revenue office. The application will take about two weeks to be processed. If you need to expedite the process, apply in person at the address below to receive the title in 3-5 working days:
