How to Apply for a Motorcycle License in Arkansas

You can apply for a motorcycle permit and license at any OMV office in Arkansas. In order to apply for a motorcycle license you must first apply for an instruction permit. You must be at least 16 years of age to apply.

New Applicants

Listed below are the requirements to obtain a permit:

  1. Visit your local OMV office.
  2. Take the written test based on the driver's manual.
  3. Pay an application fee. Fees can be obtained by contacting any OMV office.
  4. Pass the vision test.

New Applicants Under 18

In addition to the above requirements, applicants under 18 must provide a consent form from a parent or guardian.

Applying for a Motorcycle License

  1. Contact your local OMV office to arrange for a motorcycle skills test. No further written test is required. If you have successfully completed a Motorcycle Safety Foundation within the previous 90 days, the skills test is not required.
  2. You are required to bring a legally registered and operating motorcycle when you attend the skills test.
  3. Pay an application fee. Fees can be obtained by contacting any OMV office.
